The hike from Tawhaus to Indian Pass is a classic Adirondack route. The view of Wallface Mountain, from summit rock is breathtaking.
Looking up at the imposing east face of Wallface Mountain from Summit Rock in Indian Pass . The cliff tops are just under 1000 feet above the viewpoint.
The route follows Indian Pass Brook and is close to the stream at several points.

In keeping with its' "classic route" status, the Indian Pass trail is muddy, and for the last half mile below the pass, extremely steep. Several ladders are in place to help hikers pass the most difficult stretches.
One of the ladders that ease the way.
The route passes between giant boulders at it approaches the Pass. This section of the hike feels like you are walking through a classic Adirondack painting Charles Ingham.
